Bishop Kukah Raises Alarm Over Religious Violence in Nigeria, Calls for Unity

Bishop Kukah from the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto has expressed alarm over the escalation of religious violence in Nigeria, describing it as a form of genocide. During a public event in Yola, Adamawa State, Kukah presented a book titled "Man Not Stop" by Solomon Kumangar, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the increasing religious tensions in the country. Governor Ahmadu Fintiri lamented the frequent killings across Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of unity and peace-building efforts.

Former INEC Chairman Attahiru Jega intervened during the 2023 Adamawa governorship election crisis, aiming to stabilize the situation. Political figures like Bukola Saraki stressed the significance of competent leadership over party affiliations. Governor Fintiri's infrastructure development initiatives were commended, with Abdullahi Sule openly encouraging his participation in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
