CIPM Inducts 78 New Members, Advocates HR Transformation

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) held its 71st Induction Ceremony virtually, inducting 78 new members into the profession. President and Chairman of the Governing Council, Ahmed Gobir, urged human resource professionals to evolve from traditional administrative roles to become strategic drivers of business transformation.

He emphasized the importance of innovation, professional excellence, and technology-driven solutions in supporting organizational growth. Gobir described the inductees as “78 success stories,” highlighting that their membership entails responsibilities related to ethics, credibility, and continuous development.

Guest Speaker Reverend Dr. Collins Edebiri, FCIPM, delivered a keynote presentation on the theme ‘Raising the Bar of Professional Standards: HR as a Steward of Transformation,’ challenging HR professionals to redefine their roles as strategic partners in decision-making and business growth.

Edebiri noted that modern HR professionals must develop capabilities in strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, and ethical leadership to remain relevant in their evolving roles.
