CIPM's Ahmed Gobir Advocates for Value Creation in HR

At the 58th International Conference and Exhibition of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) in Abuja, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, President and Chairman of the Governing Council, urged HR professionals to prioritize value creation and impact delivery over mere activity measurement. The conference, themed “Repositioning for Value and Impact,” attracted over 5,000 delegates, including 4,000 in-person and 1,000 virtual participants.

Gobir emphasized the need for organizations to evaluate success based on the impact of work on business performance and growth. He noted that this year's conference builds on previous discussions about resilience and the future of work, aiming to translate ideas into actionable outcomes.

Dr. Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, acknowledged the conference as a vital platform for addressing workplace challenges. Other notable attendees included Mr. Bode Agoro, Head of Service of Lagos State, and Prof. Tunji Olaopa, Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, who praised CIPM's role in professionalizing HR management in Nigeria.
