Dr. Fiona Ahimi Unveils Reform Agenda as CIS President

Dr. Fiona Ahimi was inaugurated as the 14th president of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), making history as the first female to hold this position.

During her inaugural address, she unveiled an ambitious reform agenda designed to strengthen the institute's influence, expand its national and regional footprint, and enhance the recognition of its professional qualifications. A key proposal included the establishment of a ₦5 billion endowment fund aimed at supporting the next generation of capital market professionals who lack financial resources to pursue careers in the industry.

Dr. Ahimi pledged to build on the achievements of her predecessor, Mr.

Oluropo Dada, and emphasized the importance of courage and determination in advancing the institute's goals. The event attracted dignitaries from the government and private sectors, including Vice President Kashim Shettima and Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, who expressed confidence in Dr.

Ahimi's leadership.
