City And Guilds Of London Approves ITF As Examination Centre

The City and Guilds of London has approved the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) as an examination center, allowing them to train and certify Nigerian artisans internationally. ITF is now one of six centers in Nigeria to receive this approval.

The approval allows ITF to conduct examinations for various certifications in engineering, electronics, housekeeping, culinary arts, plumbing, and more. The CEO of City and Guilds, Kirstie Donnelly, highlighted the significance of this approval, stating that it will enable Nigerian artisans to gain internationally recognized qualifications, potentially leading to job opportunities worldwide.

This aligns with ITF's mission to evaluate training standards and provide human capital intervention in line with global best practices. The approval follows multiple visits by the examination body to ITF training facilities nationwide.

ITF's officer, Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, emphasized the importance of this approval in enhancing the employability of Nigerian artisans and positioning Nigeria as a major exporter of skilled manpower.
