CJN Urges Sweeping Judicial Reforms for Nigeria's Justice System

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Hon. Justice Kudirat M.

O. Kekere-Ekun, has urged for urgent and far-reaching judicial reforms within Nigeria's justice system.

Speaking at the 2026 Strategic Retreat Committee, she highlighted the importance of enhancing public trust in the institution of justice. The CJN also underscored the importance of financial accountability, transparency in managing judicial resources, and upholding professional and ethical standards across all courts.

She called for a collaborative effort among stakeholders to develop practical strategies that would translate reform goals into measurable outcomes, expressing confidence in strengthening the judiciary's role as a pillar of democracy, justice, and the rule of law in Nigeria.
