CLITA Condemns Nigerian Senate's Rejection of Electronic Transmission of Election Results

The Concerned Citizens Leadership and Transparency Advocacy Initiative (CLITA) has criticized the Nigerian Senate for rejecting the compulsory electronic transmission of election results. Isaiah Davi Ijel, the Executive Director of CLITA, expressed disappointment in Abuja, describing the Senate's decision as a significant setback for Nigeria's democracy.

He emphasized the importance of electronic transmission to reduce human interference and enhance public confidence in elections. CLITA called for the Senate to reconsider its stance and support mandatory electronic transmission to strengthen electoral processes.

They urged Nigerians, civil society organizations, and the international community to condemn the Senate's decision and demand electoral reforms for the nation's interest.
