CLO Appeals to Germany and UN Over Nigerian Child Custody

The Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) has formally petitioned the German Government and the United Nations concerning the custody situation of Nigerian woman Emem Hoffmann and her son, Uriah Hoffmann. The CLO claims that Uriah has been unlawfully kept in foster care since September 2022 due to alleged falsified documents submitted to the Bremen court by Mr.

Jan Hoffmann, Emem's estranged husband. The CLO asserts that the Jugendamt, the child protection office in Germany, has obstructed justice by ignoring critical medical evaluations that suggest Uriah has been a victim of sexual abuse.

Emem Hoffmann has accused her husband of manipulating the legal system and providing false information about her mental health to justify the removal of Uriah from her custody. The CLO is calling for immediate action from the German Chancellor and relevant authorities to rectify this situation and ensure the child's release from foster care, emphasizing the need for adherence to international law regarding child welfare.
