Coalition Sends Message to NCC Over Rural Internet Expansion

The Coalition for Inclusive Digital Growth (CIDG) has praised the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for its extensive rural broadband expansion efforts. The coalition believes that this expansion will act as a catalyst for economic growth, social inclusion, and investor confidence in underserved areas.

CIDG President Peter Ezza commended NCC's Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Aminu Maida for ensuring that digital transformation reaches deep rural and remote communities, rather than being limited to urban areas.

The coalition also applauded NCC for attracting significant investments in the telecom sector despite challenging global economic conditions. Ezza highlighted the importance of modernizing the telecom framework to prepare for future demands, including the rollout of 5G and the convergence of telecom and fintech.
