Coalition Calls for Unity Against Insecurity and Terrorism

A coalition of civil society organizations, represented by Director of Programmes Johnson Michael, called for national unity against insecurity and terrorism during a press briefing in Abuja. Michael emphasized that the fight against insecurity should not be politicized and requires cooperation from all Nigerians.

He praised the military leadership and President Tinubu for their efforts in enhancing national security and improving military personnel welfare. Michael insisted that the Federal Government is making progress in addressing security challenges and urged citizens to support the government and security agencies.

He specifically called for the arrest and prosecution of activist Omoyele Sowore over allegations of undermining national security, asserting that no individual is above the law. The coalition also warned against protests that could disrupt court proceedings and reiterated the importance of maintaining peace while addressing security issues.
