COAS Waidi Shaibu Advocates Unity at Iftar Event

On Wednesday, during a combined inter-faith breaking of fast at the Nigerian Army headquarters in Abuja, Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu called for unity and mutual respect among personnel. He highlighted the significance of the gathering coinciding with the Lenten season and the holy month of Ramadan, which serve as reminders of universal values such as sacrifice, discipline, and devotion to God.

Shaibu encouraged soldiers to reflect on self-restraint and renew their commitment to righteous living, emphasizing the beauty of diversity within God's creation. He noted that despite differences in race, tribe, and culture, the Nigerian Army's strength lies in its unity and shared purpose in serving the nation.

He urged personnel to carry the spirit of dedication and discipline into their duties, reaffirming their constitutional responsibilities. Major General IM Abdullahi welcomed the attendees and underscored the historical and spiritual significance of the event, reinforcing the shared virtues upheld by both Christians and Muslims.
