Army Chief Calls for Unity and Discipline During Ramadan

On Saturday, during a combined break fast for Muslim and Christian soldiers observing Ramadan and the Lenten season in Abuja, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, called on Nigerian soldiers to uphold discipline and unity in their duties. He highlighted the need for unwavering commitment to defend the nation against evolving security threats, particularly as thousands of troops are deployed across various theaters to confront terrorism and banditry.

Shaibu noted that the spiritual observance of Ramadan and Lent reflects virtues such as sacrifice, patience, and discipline, which align closely with the professional values expected of every Nigerian soldier. He reaffirmed the Nigerian Army's commitment to troop welfare as a top priority, emphasizing the importance of morale and readiness.

Maj. Gen. Isa Abdullahi also participated in the event, which symbolized unity and mutual respect among soldiers of different faiths. Shaibu paid tribute to officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the country and thanked President Bola Tinubu for his continued support of the Nigerian Army.
