COAS Urges Troops to Defend National Sovereignty

During an Eid-el-Fitr luncheon held on Saturday at the Forward Operating Base in Sobe, Owan West Local Government Area, Edo State, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), called on Nigerian troops to remain steadfast in their commitment to defending national sovereignty. He reaffirmed the Nigerian Army's dedication to enhancing troop morale and strengthening inter-agency collaboration through welfare-driven initiatives.

General Shaibu highlighted the importance of resilience and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation's territorial integrity and protecting citizens' lives. He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering support and leadership in military welfare.

The event, which included cultural performances and a morale-boosting luncheon, was attended by various dignitaries, including Brigadier General Ahm Balogun and local government officials. Colonel Stanley Agboro also emphasized the significance of the luncheon as an annual event during festive periods, aimed at boosting the morale of frontline soldiers.
