Coca-Cola HBC Expands African Presence Through $2.6bn CCBA Acquisition

Coca-Cola HBC, through a $2.6 billion deal, has acquired a 75% controlling stake in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), significantly expanding its footprint across the African continent. The acquisition involves purchasing stakes from the Coca-Cola Company and the Gutsche family.

This move positions Coca-Cola HBC as the world's second-largest Coca-Cola bottler by volume and operations in 14 African markets. The acquisition will be funded through cash issuance and share repurchases, with plans to potentially acquire the remaining 25% stake in CCBA within six years.

Despite market concerns over increased financial leverage, Coca-Cola HBC remains committed to Africa's growth and sustainability.
