Josh2Funny Defends 'Olodo Uprising' in Nigerian Comedy

Comedian and skit maker Josh Alfred, known as Josh2Funny, has expressed his views on the emergence of what rapper YCee termed the 'Olodo Uprising' in Nigeria. In an interview with media personality Nedu Wazobia, Josh2Funny described the phenomenon as both a blessing and a curse.

He criticized critics of the so-called Olodo content creators, arguing that comedy has never been about intelligence. He recalled his early work with the 'Mama Felicia' character, which he admitted lacked sophistication.

Josh2Funny stated, “What YCee said is straight-up the truth,” acknowledging the existence of the Olodo Uprising. He emphasized that social media has amplified the visibility of these creators, making them targets for trolls and envy.

He questioned whether individuals like Peller, who may not have formal education, should resort to crime instead of pursuing their passions in entertainment.
