Shehu Sani Advocates Community Vigilance to Address Insecurity in Nigeria

Former Senator Shehu Sani stressed the crucial role of community vigilance in combating insecurity in Nigeria during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria. He called for stronger community-based responses to assist in tackling insecurity, noting that security forces cannot be everywhere at all times.

Sani expressed worry over the persistent banditry and terrorism in northern states, leading to mass kidnappings and displacements. He also raised concerns about the increasing number of young Nigerians engaging in risky journeys abroad, often falling victim to exploitation and harsh conditions.

Sani urged Nigerians to dream of a better homeland and work towards achieving those dreams within the country.
