Como Signs Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea for £31m

Como has finalized a deal exceeding £30 million to acquire defender Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea. The agreement, valued at an initial £25.7 million with an additional £5.1 million in potential add-ons, follows extensive negotiations that began in early June.

Chalobah, 27, is set to sign a long-term contract and take on a leadership position under manager Cesc Fabregas at Como, who recently achieved Champions League qualification by finishing fourth in Serie A. This transfer marks a significant moment for Chalobah, who leaves Chelsea after nearly 20 years, having joined the club as a child.

The move is part of Chelsea's strategy to reduce the squad size for new manager Xabi Alonso, as the club has recently signed Maxence Lacroix for £52 million and is looking to offload several defenders, including Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile.
