Chelsea Signs Pep Chavarria from Rayo Vallecano
Chelsea Football Club has officially announced the signing of Pep Chavarria from Rayo Vallecano. The 28-year-old defender is the seventh summer signing for Chelsea, costing the club approximately £16.3 million.
Chavarria is anticipated to serve as a direct replacement for Marc Cucurella, who recently transferred to Real Madrid ahead of the 2026 World Cup. In a statement on the club’s official website, Chavarria expressed his enthusiasm about joining Chelsea, stating, “I’m so excited to get started.
This is a dream for me as Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world. It is a big opportunity but I am prepared and will work hard to help the team achieve success.” This transfer marks a significant addition to Chelsea's squad as they prepare for the upcoming season.
