US Missionary Demands Release of Tinubu Drug Records

American missionary Alex Barbir has raised concerns regarding the alleged drug trafficking records of Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, urging US President Donald Trump to release these documents. Barbir claims that continued concealment of files related to a 1990s US investigation into a Chicago-area heroin distribution network, which involved a civil forfeiture case linked to Tinubu, could render US officials complicit in the violence against Nigerians.

He stated, “Tinubu is a heroin trafficker who forfeited thousands of dollars to the US government.” Barbir's comments come amid ongoing Freedom of Information Act litigation aimed at obtaining additional records from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and other US agencies regarding the investigation. The dispute over these records has reignited public interest in the case and the information held by US authorities.

Barbir emphasized that Nigerians deserve access to information concerning allegations involving their political leadership.
