Adamawa Civil Servants Protest Extension of Permanent Secretaries' Tenure

Civil servants in Adamawa State are expressing discontent over the extension of the tenure of six permanent secretaries, some of whom have already retired. The senior government workers are accusing the state government of blocking the promotion of junior and middle cadre civil servants by retaining retired officials in higher positions.

This situation has led to a sense of stagnation in career progression, with directors at grade level 17 particularly affected. The civil servants fear targeted punishment for speaking out against the perceived injustice and believe that the government is undermining the civil service through backdoor appointments.
