Conor McGregor Receives 18-Month Ban for Anti-Doping Violations in UFC

Conor McGregor, the Irish mixed martial artist, has been handed an 18-month ban by the Combat Sports Anti-Doping Agency (CSAD) for violating anti-doping policies in the UFC. McGregor was sanctioned for missing three scheduled drug tests within a year, with the violation equivalent to a failed test under UFC rules.

The CSAD confirmed that McGregor failed to provide a biological sample for collection on multiple occasions. Despite the initial ban, McGregor's suspension was reduced to 18 months due to his cooperation.

The ban officially began in September 2024 and will end in March 2026. McGregor, a former UFC champion, has not fought since July 2021 due to a broken leg and other delays.

He recently caused controversy by claiming to have signed a fight coinciding with Donald Trump's birthday.
