Edo APC Elects Ward Leaders in Peaceful Congress

The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held its ward congress on Wednesday, successfully electing leaders across 192 wards in a largely consensual exercise. The congress concluded without any reported violence or rancor.

Teneb Sai, the state chairman, addressed journalists at the party secretariat in Benin City, highlighting the significance of the event as a milestone in the political development of the state. He urged the newly elected ward executives to provide effective leadership and strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

Sai emphasized the need for continuous voter registration and mobilization efforts in collaboration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as part of the party's preparations for the 2027 general elections. He also stressed the importance of grassroots engagement and the protection of permanent voter cards, urging ward leaders to work closely with local government executives to maintain unity and harmony within the party.
