Edo APC Holds Direct Primaries for Local Elections

The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held direct primaries on July 11, 2026, to elect candidates for the upcoming local government elections across 18 local government areas (LGAs) and 192 wards. Incumbent chairmen Osaro Eribo and Engr.

Gabriel Iduseri emerged victorious in their respective primaries. The exercise was noted for its competitiveness, and Governor Mondai Okpebholo was commended for allowing a level playing field for all candidates.

Abdullahi Bello, who officiated the primaries from the APC national secretariat, praised party members for their peaceful conduct during the elections, describing the process as orderly and free of rancor. Bello expressed optimism that the party would emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections.

Edo State APC Chairman Jarret Teneb urged the candidates to work diligently to secure victory for the party in the local government elections and to present the results declaring the winners thereafter.
