Adebayo Blames Corruption for Nigeria's Insecurity and Poverty

Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, addressed the Arewa Awareness Summit on Unity Against Insecurity in Kaduna State on Wednesday. He attributed Nigeria's ongoing economic and security challenges to corruption, emphasizing that without transparency, accountability, and integrity in public service, the country would struggle to overcome insecurity and poverty.

Adebayo asserted that effective governance could resolve Nigeria's issues within three years. He pointed out that Northern Nigeria possesses the necessary human and natural resources for economic growth and urged leaders to harness these potentials.

He called for a shift from discussing the causes of insecurity to implementing practical solutions, advocating for increased investment in agriculture and education. Adebayo expressed concern over the high number of out-of-school children in the North, stating that sustainable development is unattainable without significant investment in quality education.

The summit gathered various stakeholders, including traditional rulers and political leaders, to discuss strategies for promoting unity and addressing insecurity in Northern Nigeria.
