Adebayo Unveils SDP Manifesto, Promises Security Reforms

On Tuesday in Abuja, Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), unveiled the party's manifesto for the 2027–2031 election cycle, titled "Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity." Adebayo pledged to defeat insecurity within four years of taking office, emphasizing the need for a change in leadership to address Nigeria's security challenges. He urged Nigerians to vote for change in the upcoming election on January 16, 2027.

Adebayo also challenged President Bola Tinubu to a public debate to allow voters to compare policies and records. His manifesto includes plans to establish four functional refineries, increase electricity generation to 75,000 megawatts, and maintain petrol prices at a maximum of N200 per litre.

Sadiq Gombe, the National Chairman of the SDP, stated that the manifesto aims to provide an alternative to ineffective governance, while Femi Olaniyi, Chairman of the SDP State Chairmen Forum, encouraged grassroots engagement with the manifesto's proposals.
