2026 National Para Sports Games Set for March 26 in Abuja

The countdown for the 2026 National Para Sports Games has officially begun, with the event scheduled to take place from March 26 to April 3, 2026, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria. Organized by the National Sports Commission (NSC), this historic event will bring together thousands of para athletes from Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The para games have evolved into Nigeria's largest platform for athletes with disabilities, serving as a crucial pathway for talent discovery and representation at continental and global para competitions. The 2026 edition will feature a wide range of para sports disciplines, including para athletics, para powerlifting, para swimming, para table tennis, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, para taekwondo, para cycling, and amputee football, among others.

Kola Daniel, the special assistant director general of the NSC, emphasized the commitment to inclusive sports development and creating opportunities for athletes with disabilities to showcase their talent and resilience. As the event approaches, preparations are intensifying among athletes and officials across the country.
