Iran Warns Nations Against Joining US Sanctions Efforts

On Saturday, Mohsen Rezai, the head of Iran's supreme national security council, issued a warning to countries considering participation in the United States' economic sanctions against Iran, labeling them as enemies. He stated, “We declare to all countries… do not join the economic war waged by the United States,” emphasizing that any nation imposing economic restrictions on Iran would face consequences.

Rezai claimed that Iran has not yet attacked American economic interests, having only targeted military bases thus far. He threatened that if the U.S. escalates its actions, the confrontation would be significant, likening it to an earthquake.

The U.S. has been urging its allies, including Beijing, to isolate Iran economically, but China has criticized this initiative, asserting that American sanctions will not resolve Middle Eastern conflicts. Additionally, the United Arab Emirates announced a suspension of all trade and financial transactions with Tehran until further notice.
