Foiled Coup Plot to Kill Tinubu Uncovered in Nigeria

In a significant security development, a covert intelligence operation coordinated by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Army successfully thwarted a coup plot aimed at assassinating key political figures and overthrowing President Bola Tinubu's government. The plot, which began to unravel in late September 2025, involved multiple senior officials.

The DSS Director-General Adeola Ajayi, in collaboration with Chief of Defence Intelligence Emmanuel Undiandey and Chief of Defence Staff Christoph Musa, swiftly launched a joint operation to arrest the coup's masterminds and collaborators. Notably, retired General Adamu was identified as the alleged financier of the coup plot and remains at large.

This incident marks a significant security breach in Nigeria, with the government taking decisive action to maintain stability and democracy.
