Nigerian Police Inspector Arrested Over Alleged Coup Plot Against President Tinubu

The Nigerian Police Force has arrested Police Inspector Ahm Ibrahim from Taraba State for his alleged involvement in a coup plot against President Bola Tinubu. The arrest was made following fresh intelligence obtained during an ongoing investigation by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).

A total of 36 suspects, including military and police personnel, are currently in custody in connection with the case. The operation to uncover the alleged conspiracy began in October 2025, with senior officials across services being detained.

The head of the DIA, Emmanuel Parker Undiandey, oversees the investigation. Notably, former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, has been linked to the investigation but denies any involvement.

The detainees have reportedly faced poor conditions, with some falling ill in detention. The probe has attracted political attention, with reports of military operations at the residences of prominent individuals.
