DSS Arraigns Five Associates of Timipre Silva in Abuja

The Department of State Services (DSS) arraigned five associates of Timipre Silva, the former Governor of Bayelsa State, at the Federal High Court in Abuja on allegations of concealing Silva's whereabouts. The accused, identified as Reuben Ayuba, Musa Moham, Fridai Paul, Paganengigha Anagaha, and Ayebaifif Suobit, are implicated in a purported coup attempt against President Bola Tinubu.

The DSS claims that the individuals became accessories to the felony of concealing Silva's location, which is a violation of Sections 516 and 519 of the Criminal Code Act of Nigeria. The arraignment took place on Wednesday, with the accused pleading not guilty to the charges.

DSS lawyer Emmanuel Orubor requested the court to set a date for the agency to present its case. The defense lawyers, including Sunusi Musa and Ibrahim Imadegbelo, filed bail applications, which were granted by Justice Peter Lifu, allowing each accused to post bail of N5 million with two sureties.

The trial is set to commence on July 22, 2026.
