Wives of Detained Officers Demand Fair Military Trial

They acknowledge the importance of the military trial but fear that the process may be tainted by coercion and prejudice. The women recall past controversial military trials in Nigeria and highlight the risks of prolonged detention and inhumane treatment of their husbands.

They emphasize that justice must be based on credible, independent evidence and that no individual should be condemned without such proof. The letter also references the announcement on October 4, 2025, regarding the detention of 16 officers for alleged breaches of military regulations and the existence of a clandestine network planning a coup.

The wives call for the judicial process to not become a painful chapter in Nigeria's history.
