Court Adjourns ADC Leadership Case Indefinitely Pending Appeal

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite, has adjourned the leadership crisis case of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) indefinitely. This decision follows the court's acknowledgment that it is bound to suspend proceedings due to an ongoing appeal at the Supreme Court regarding jurisdiction issues.

The case was initiated by Nafiu Bala Gomb, who is challenging the appointments made by former Senate President David Mark and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, seeking to nullify these appointments and restrain the actions of party executives. The Supreme Court has already scheduled a hearing for April 22 to address the jurisdictional dispute.

Justice Nwite ruled that continuing the case would be inappropriate until the Supreme Court resolves the jurisdictional questions, effectively pausing the ongoing leadership dispute within the ADC until a decision is made.
