Court Restricts Turaki's PDP Faction from Secretariate Access

On Monday, a Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, issued an order restraining the faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Turaki from accessing the party's national secretariat. The ruling came in response to a suit filed by the faction loyal to Nyesom Wike, which argued that the November 15-16, 2025, national convention organized by Turaki's faction violated a valid court order and the Nigerian Constitution.

Justice Abdulmalik emphasized that the actions taken during the convention, including the suspension of members, were unconstitutional and therefore null and void. The court also ordered security agencies, including the Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Services, to ensure the protection of Wike's faction's access to the secretariat.

The ruling reinforces the authority of the court and the need for compliance with existing judgments, as the Turaki faction had continued to act despite the court's previous decisions.
