Court Blocks Turaki-led PDP from National Secretariat Access

On Monday, a Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Joyc Abdulmalik, issued an order preventing the Kabiru Turaki-led faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) from accessing the party's national secretariat located at Wadata Plaza. This ruling was in response to a suit filed by the faction loyal to Nyesom Wike, which sought protection from security agencies, including the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) and the Department of State Services (DSS), to access the secretariat.

The court found that the national convention held by the Turaki faction on November 15-16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State, violated a valid court order and was therefore null and void. Justice Abdulmalik emphasized that the actions taken during this convention, including the suspension of members, were unconstitutional.

The court also ruled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should not recognize the Turaki-led faction's office address. The Turaki faction plans to appeal the decision.
