Turaki Faction Seeks Court Order Against Wike's Convention

The faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Turaki has filed a suit in the Supreme Court to stop the faction led by Nyesom Wike from conducting a national convention set for March 29-30, 2025. The Turaki-led group is contesting a judgment from the Court of Appeal that upheld the legality of a previous convention held in November 2025 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

They argue that the Federal High Court lacked jurisdiction over the matter. The Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP convened a closed-door meeting with the Board of Trustees (BOT), chaired by Adolphu Wabara, in Abuja.

During this meeting, it was confirmed that Wike had announced the national convention for the PDP, which is now under legal scrutiny.
