Court Allows Ireti Kingibe to Continue ADC Activities

On Friday, a Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Peter Lifu, ruled in favor of Ireti Kingibe, allowing her to participate in activities of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The court dismissed a suit filed by Okezuo Anayo and Isaiah Samuel, who sought to prevent Kingibe from engaging in ADC activities, claiming her suspension was due to alleged anti-party activities and gross misconduct.

The plaintiffs, represented by Kolawole Olowooker, requested an interim injunction to restrain Kingibe from acting as a member of the ADC pending the determination of the case. Justice Lifu held that the matter was an internal party issue and did not warrant court intervention, labeling the suit as frivolous and baseless.

Additionally, he invoked sections 82 and 83 of the Electoral Act, imposing a fine of N10 million on the plaintiffs for filing the suit.
