Court Fixes October 29 for Hearing in Sowore's Protest Suit Against Police in Abuja

The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled October 29, 2025, to hear a suit filed by activist Omoyele Sowore against the police over the disruption of protests. Sowore's protest, demanding the release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, led to his arrest.

The court had earlier granted an interim order restraining Sowore from holding demonstrations in sensitive areas. Sowore's special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, and Kanu's brother, Emmanuel Kanu, are also facing legal issues.

The court proceedings involve allegations of threats to national security and the right to peaceful protest.
