Oyo Court Approves PDP's National Convention in Ibadan Amid Legal Battle

The Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has granted the People's Democratic Party (PDP) the green light to proceed with its national convention scheduled for November 15-16, 2025, at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba. The court dismissed a suit filed by Folahan Malamo Adelabi, an aspirant for the position of Deputy National Organising Secretary, affirming the PDP's right to conduct its internal affairs in line with its constitution.

The judgment also mandates INEC to deploy officials to monitor the convention for adherence to electoral standards, promoting transparency and accountability within the party. This decision comes after a previous attempt to halt the convention by a suit filed in Abuja was unsuccessful.
