Court Sentences Four Terrorists to Life Imprisonment

On Wednesday, the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Jame Omotosho, sentenced four terrorists to life imprisonment for their roles in Boko Haram attacks in Borno State. The convicts, who pleaded guilty to terrorism-related charges, include Ali Abiso, Bakura Abah, Kabiru Ado, and Luka Garba, with additional sentences of 25 years imposed on some counts.

The court also sentenced 14 other individuals to varying prison terms of 20 to 25 years for similar charges. The prosecution was led by Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi SAN and Director of Public Prosecution Rotimi Oyedepo SAN, with evidence presented by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Amina Audu, who provided logistical support to Boko Haram, was sentenced to one year but was ordered to be released immediately due to time served since her arrest on April 8, 2024. The court emphasized the seriousness of the offenses under the Terrorism Prevention Prohibition Act of 2022.
