Man Remanded for Allegedly Defiling His Daughter

Garuba Emmanuel Kirikiri, a 35-year-old man, has been remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre following allegations of defiling his six-year-old daughter. The incident was reported at the Ikeja Chief Magistrate Court on a Friday, where Chief Magistrate Mr.

Omolara Kushanu ordered the remand after the defendant's plea was not taken when the charge was read. The case has been adjourned until April 2.

Prosecutor ASP Adegok Ademigbuji informed the court that the alleged offense occurred sometime in May 2025, during a holiday when the girl reported pain in her private parts to her mother, who subsequently questioned her. The prosecutor stated that the defendant had touched the girl's private parts, which contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
