Court Halts Faction's NYCN Election Plans

The Abuja High Court in the Federal Capital Territory has issued a restraining order preventing a faction led by Comrade Ademola Gbenga from organizing the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) election scheduled for October 7, 2025. The court order was granted following an exparte application on October 6, 2025.

The faction's attempt to hold a parallel election was halted, with the court directing law enforcement agencies to enforce the order. The dispute arose after a dissatisfied group formed a parallel leadership structure, leading to conflicting election plans, which the court intervened to resolve.
