Kano Court Sets Trial Date for Ganduje Over Alleged Fund Diversion

The Kano State High Court has fixed April 15 to commence the trial of former Kano State Governor Ganduje and his wife, Hafsat Umar, on 11 counts of alleged corruption, including bribery, conspiracy, and misappropriation of public funds amounting to billions of Naira. The case also involves Abubakar Bawuro, Abdullahi Umar Jibrilla, Muhammad Lamash, Safari Textile Ltd, and Lasag General Enterprises Ltd.

The prosecution, led by Victor Oni, has filed motions seeking to introduce additional evidence against the defendants. Defense counsels, including Lydia Oluwakemi Oyewo, Adekunle Taiwo Falola, and others, have also filed motions to proceed with the trial.

The presiding judge, Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu, adjourned the case to hear pending applications.
