Federal High Court Stops PDP Convention in Oyo State Over Legal Dispute

The Federal High Court in Abuja has halted the People's Democratic Party (PDP) national convention planned for Ibadan, Oyo State, following a lawsuit filed by party members challenging the process. The plaintiffs, including state chairmen and faction secretaries, argued that the PDP failed to conduct valid state congresses as required by its constitution and electoral laws.

The court ruled in favor of the plaintiffs, declaring the convention plans in violation of the Nigerian constitution and INEC guidelines. The PDP has been ordered to provide a statutory 21-day notice before proceeding with the convention.
