FCT High Court Grants Abubakar Malami Interim Bail Amid Corruption Allegations

The FCT High Court has approved interim bail for former AGF Abubakar Malami, setting a new hearing date for January 5, 2026. Malami's legal team filed a motion seeking bail, which was granted with specific conditions including surrendering his international passport and providing two sureties.

The court specified that the sureties must include the Director-General of the Nigerian Legal Aid Council and a serving member of the House of Representatives. Malami faces allegations of involvement in the recovery of $322.5 million Abacha loot and other financial improprieties.

The EFCC has accused him of terror financing and duplicity in legal representation.
