Rivers State High Court to Rule on Suit Against Ex-Administrator's Sack of LG Workers

The Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt is set to deliver judgment on a case challenging the removal of members of the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission by the former Sole Administrator, Ibas. The suit was filed by Reverend Goodlife Iduoku, Ben Amadi, Christian Echele, Chimenem Wisdom, Jerome, and three others who were appointed by Governor Siminalayi Fubara but later dismissed by Ibas.

The aggrieved officials argue that their removal was illegal and that the Sole Administrator lacked the legal authority to make such decisions. The court has ordered a status quo pending the judgment.

The Rivers State government, Ibas, two commercial banks, and others are involved in the case.
