Nigerian Court Warns IPOB Leader Kanu Over Failure to Open Defense in Trial

The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a stern warning to the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, for continuously refusing to open his defense in his ongoing trial. Justice James Omotosho warned Kanu that if he fails to begin his defense by November 5, the court will foreclose his rights to proceed accordingly.

Kanu's legal team has been criticized for their approach, with the court adjourning the case until November 5 to allow Kanu to properly file necessary documents and consult with a lawyer.
