Court to Decide on Virtual Testimony in N152m Fraud Case

The Federal High Court in Lagos is set to rule on May 12, 2026, regarding a motion for virtual testimony in the N152 million fraud trial involving Olukayode Olusanya, Chief Executive Officer of Oak Homes Limited. The prosecution, led by CSP Mondai Omo Osagi, filed a request for Mr.

Anthoni Ugbebor to testify remotely from the United States due to health challenges and residency abroad. The prosecution argues that allowing virtual testimony is necessary to expedite the trial and does not prejudice the defense, as it provides an opportunity for real-time cross-examination.

However, the defense, represented by Agboola Adeleke SAN, opposes the application, citing concerns over the defendant's right to a fair hearing and the ability to observe the witness's demeanor. The court has adjourned the matter to consider the arguments presented.

Olukayode Olusanya and his company face four counts of conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretenses, and fraud related to a property deal that allegedly defrauded Ugbebor of N152 million.
