Court Hearing Delayed in N152m Property Dispute Case

The hearing for a N152 million property dispute involving businessman Olukayod Olusanya and U.S.-based engineer Anthony Ugbebor was postponed due to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) failing to serve court documents. The case, which concerns allegations of trespass on two luxury apartments located at 14A Musa Yar Adua Street, Victoria Island, was scheduled to be heard in the Lagos High Court, Ikoyi, on Tuesday.

Justice Akingbola Georg was informed by the claimant's counsel, Benson Nwosu, that while the claimant received the first defendant's process, the EFCC had not served its final written address. The EFCC's counsel, E.S.

Okongbu, acknowledged the failure to serve and apologized. The court has directed the EFCC to serve the necessary documents immediately, with the next hearing set for April 22, 2026.

The EFCC is involved in the case due to allegations of criminal breach of trust and the recovery of funds related to the dispute.
