NCDC Addresses COVID-19 Concerns After New Case

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has taken steps to alleviate public fears after a new COVID-19 case was confirmed in Cross River State. The case was reported on Tuesday, prompting the NCDC to issue a statement from its Director General, Dr.

Jide Idri. He assured the public that the health surveillance system is actively monitoring the situation nationwide and collaborating with state authorities for early detection and swift response to any cases.

Dr. Idri emphasized that there is no cause for alarm and urged residents to adhere to basic hygiene practices, such as regular handwashing and avoiding self-medication.

The NCDC also noted that COVID-19 has not been eradicated globally, and occasional cases are to be expected. Citizens were advised to rely on verified health updates to prevent unnecessary panic from unconfirmed reports.
