Island Titans Clinch CCC 40-Over Title with Victory

On Sunday, Island Titans secured their first CCC 40-over title by defeating Ibeju Lekki Cricket Club by 67 runs at the University of Lagos Cricket Oval. After winning the toss, Titans elected to bat and posted a total of 164 runs in 33 overs.

Key contributions came from Amit Singh, who scored 48 runs off 55 balls, and Isaac Okp, who added 46 runs off 65 balls. Despite early struggles in forming partnerships, the duo laid a solid foundation for the Titans.

Former captain Ademola Onikoyi contributed 23 runs. In response, Ibeju Lekki struggled to form formidable partnerships, with Kareem Gafar being the top scorer with 29 runs off 30 balls.

The Titans' bowlers ensured regular wickets fell, leading to Ibeju Lekki being bowled out for 97 runs in 23 overs. The final round match of the Super Six 20-over league is scheduled for April 18-19, as the CCC league continues to expand with 22 teams across two divisions.
